STEP 1
Register at a Recognized Driving School
Enroll with an SAAQ-recognized school.
If under 18: Provide written parental/guardian consent to the school.
STEP 2
Complete the Theoretical Course (Phase 1)
Finish Phase 1 classroom lessons on Québec traffic laws and safe driving.
Receive a certificate of successful completion (you’ll need this for SAAQ).
STEP 3
Book Your SAAQ Appointment

Visit an SAAQ Service Centre

Documents You Must Bring
Phase 1 completion certificate
After Completing your Phase-1 your driving school conducts a knowledge test and provides you a cerificate for SAAQ.
Proof of residence
if your address isn’t shown on your IDs. You can use any address proof as long as you have a name on it like wifi bill, Hydro bill etc.
Two official photo IDs
RAMQ/Medicare card, passport, birth certificate, Canadian citizenship card, study permit for international students.
Parental/guardian authorization
If you are under 18 years old. You need an authorization from your parents or your guardian.
